Keep Plano Vibrantly Beautiful

The Plano Parks Foundation’s “Wildseeder” program, proudly sponsored by H-E-B and supported through the $5,000 “Our Texas, Our Future” Grant Program in partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful, is a community initiative dedicated to enhancing the natural beauty of Plano’s public spaces.

Through this grant partnership and local donations, the program raises funds to purchase native wildflower seeds each year.  These seeds are strategically planted along the city’s extensive trail systems and park areas to create vibrant, colorful corridors for all to enjoy while supporting sustainable land management practices.

The recent grant funding enabled the expansion of native wildflower plantings by approximately 11 additional acres across Plano parks and trails, including Los Rios Park, Jack Carter Park, and Ravenglass Park.  The City of Plano updated its public Wildflower Map to reflect expanded planting areas and provides educational information regarding mixed maintenance benefits, native species, and pollinator benefits.

By supporting this program, H-E-B, Keep Texas Beautiful, and residents help provide vital habitats for pollinators, conserve water, expand biodiversity, and preserve the ecological health of the community.  The initiative also encourages community engagement through educational outreach, citizen science programs, and seasonal wildflower experiences enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
